“You’re Loved,” A Documentary By Our Founder.

Carys Mullins, the founder of Advocates for LGBTQ+ Equality, is dedicated to standing up for the LGBTQIA+ community. Her fight for this mission, which this group of advocates shares, has led Carys to create a film that will send an important message: we will not stand by as our community suffers injustice. Especially not while that injustice fuels hate-motivated attacks against children.

Every day, trans+ youth across the US suffer the devastating consequences of discrimination and stigmatization. Last year alone, 174 anti-trans bills attacked transgender individuals' right to healthcare, education, and their right to simply exist in our communities.

These systemic attacks increase rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation in trans youth. According to the Trevor Project 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, in 2022 alone, over 50% of transgender and non-binary youth seriously considered suicide.

Carys, alongside Humanity Rising, a nonprofit empowering youth to create a more compassionate world, is producing a grassroots documentary to tell the stories of trans youth and how the current environment is impacting them. We will also hear from mental health professionals, friends, and family members. Carys hopes that through amplifying their voices and sharing their stories of resilience, the film will inspire greater awareness and inclusive action, and will give trans kids hope – something they desperately need in times like these.

Students support this film and be the reason the stories of trans kids reach thousands of people across the nation, inspiring empathy, hope, and positive action. By donating, your name will be listed in the credits as a Producer. Donate here.

Companies who donate will be eligible for an exclusive film screening, the opportunity for their name and logo to be on all marketing materials, and a shoutout at film events. Companies can give here.
